Everything Diego can do
Caring for an animal is a lot. Remembering it all doesn’t have to be.
Feeding times, tablets, vaccination dates, vet visits, weight, microchip number, the practice’s phone number – at some point that no longer fits in your head, let alone on a note on the fridge. Diego brings it all together in one place, for every one of your animals.
Feeding plan & packaging scan
Feeding times, amount, type of food and supplements for every animal. Just photograph the packaging – calories and analytical constituents are recognised and saved as a reusable food. Every meal gets ticked off, so nobody feeds twice. All free.
Medication plan
Every medicine with dosage, times, reason for use and notes. The daily plan tells you what is due now and remembers what has already been given.
Check the medication planPremium
The heart of Diego: the check recognises the active ingredient behind every brand name, examines the whole plan for interactions and assesses it for exactly your species, age, weight and diagnoses.
Digital vaccination recordPremium
Photograph the pet passport and you’re done: date, vaccine, batch, manufacturer and practice are recognised. Diego shows you what was vaccinated against and what is due next. Your first entry is free, everything beyond that is Premium.
Appointments & remindersPremium
Vet, follow-up, deworming, nail trimming – one-off or recurring. With a push reminder if you like, so that call to the practice doesn’t slip through again.
Record walksPremium
Start a walk and the route and duration are recorded and saved as a map. Battery-friendly, foreground only, and only for the animals you switch it on for.
Water intake & daily rings
A drinking goal per animal and three rings for food, medication and water. One look at “Today” is enough to see what is still open.
Every animal, every species
Dog, cat, horse, cattle, pig, chicken – or that one very special animal. With a profile, microchip number, passport number, insurance, vet contact and diagnoses.
Sharing down to the detail
Invite family, dog sitters, boarding kennels or your practice – per animal and per category. The first person is free to invite, further people are part of Premium.
Nutrition analysisPremium
The scanned nutritional values are assessed based on studies and tailored to your animal – using published reference values (FEDIAF, NRC). Diego flags over- and undersupply, breed-specific critical values and concrete recommendations, plus a body condition score and a target-weight plan with a weighing reminder. If a value is missing, Diego says so openly – nothing is made up.
Check the medication plan
The question that kept us awake at night: does all of this go together?
Three preparations from two practices, plus a supplement – and nobody ever looks at the whole plan. That is exactly what Diego does at the tap of a button. Keeping the medication plan itself is free; the check is part of Premium.
- Active ingredient, not brand name. Metacam, Novalgin, Baytril, prednisolone: the check recognises which active ingredient and which drug class sits behind the name on the box – even for rare or foreign preparations.
- The whole plan, not the single tablet. What gets assessed is the combination: NSAID plus corticosteroid, duplicate drug classes, intervals, given with or without food.
- Tailored to your animal. Species, breed, age, weight and any diagnoses you entered are taken into account. Cats metabolise many substances more slowly than dogs, birds and horses react differently again – that is part of the assessment.
- Traffic lights instead of jargon. Every item gets “no concerns”, “ask your vet” or “caution” – with one sentence explaining why, and a concrete question for the practice.
Gabapentin 100 mg
Well established for pain support in older dogs and combines well with the other preparations. Drowsiness can occur at the start.
Meloxicam (NSAID)
With a known sensitive stomach and long-term use: discuss kidney values and gastric protection with the practice. Question: is the long-term dose still right at the current weight?
Combination with prednisolone
An anti-inflammatory and a corticosteroid at the same time clearly raise the risk of gastrointestinal ulcers. This combination should be explicitly confirmed by your vet.
Diego makes no diagnosis and recommends no treatment. The check is a pointer so that you can ask the right questions – the decision rests with your vet.
About us
First there was my dog – Diego.

This app came about because I needed it myself – for my Labrador Diego. As he got older he was prescribed medication again and again, and especially when yet another one was added in between, it was no longer clear at all: do these medicines really combine as well as they seem to at first glance? And when exactly do I give what?
Then our vet at the time gave us a combination preparation that was far too strong – and despite our questions, no proper explanation. We had to learn on our own dog what outdated treatments can do. Only through our own research did we find out that the prescribed medicine was highly controversial and completely unsuitable for a Labrador of his age.
None of us would have had to do that research if it had simply said somewhere: careful, take another close look at this combination. That is exactly what Diego does today. The app carries his name because it would never have existed without him.

“I never wanted to stand in the practice again without knowing what my dog is actually getting. Diego helps me keep track – and it should do exactly that for other people too: everything bundled in one place.”
— Markus, Diego’s owner
Caring together
Everyone is in the loop. But not everyone knows everything.
An animal is rarely cared for by just one person. That is why Diego lets you invite someone – and decide precisely who sees which data about which animal. One person is included for free, further people need Premium.
- Per animal. Your neighbour only looks after the cat? Then she only sees the cat.
- Per category. Profile, feeding, medication, appointments, vaccination record, walks – each one can be switched on and off.
- Fast in an emergency. Share the vaccination record with one switch when the emergency practice needs it, and take it back just as quickly afterwards.
- Reading yes, rebuilding no. Invited people may tick off meals and doses or record a walk. Only you can change and delete plans.
Example: boarding kennel for two weeks
Shared for Balu:
Feeding
Times, amount, supplements – and tick off once fed.
Medication
Dosage and times, tick off doses.
Vaccination record
Stays private – until you add it with one switch if it really matters.
Walks
You only share location data if you explicitly want to.

Frequent questions
What owners ask us most
What does Diego cost?
Everyday use is free: as many animals as you like, the feeding plan including supplements and extras, the medication plan with every medicine, and sharing with one other person. Plus one vaccination entry – with its due date, the practice and the automatic reminder, so you can see how it works. Premium unlocks the full vaccination record with passport scan, calendar and appointments, along with the medication check and walk recording – for €0.99 a month or €14.99 once.
Which animals is the app for?
All of them. Dog, cat, horse, cattle, pig and chicken are built in; every other animal you add as “Other” with a breed – from rabbit to African grey parrot. The medication check also works with the respective species, because a cat metabolises many substances completely differently from a dog.
Does the medication check replace the vet?
No, and it is not meant to. It maps brand names to active ingredients, points out possible interactions and species-specific particularities and thereby gives you the right questions for your next conversation. Diagnosis, treatment and dosage always stay with your vet.
Can I scan my vaccination record?
Yes. You photograph the pages of the EU pet passport and Diego recognises the date, vaccine, batch, manufacturer and practice stamps. That becomes a digital vaccination record that tells you which vaccination is due next – and which was already overdue. You can add one vaccination entry for free; the passport scan and every further entry belong to Premium, together with the calendar and appointments.
Who sees my data when I invite someone?
Exactly what you share – and nothing else. For every person you choose which animal and which category the share covers: profile, feeding, medication, appointments, vaccination record or walks. So the boarding kennel gets food and medication, but not the vaccination record. Invited people may tick things off; only you can change and delete. You can invite one person for free; from the second onwards you need Premium.
Does Diego work without internet?
Everyday use, yes. Your animals, plans and ticks live on your device and work offline. Only the vaccination record scan and the detailed medication check need a connection; if there is none, the app analyses in a simplified way offline and tells you so.
Is there an app for Android?
Diego runs in the browser and can be added to your Android home screen in two steps – after that it starts like a normal app, without an address bar. You will find instructions further up this page.
Keep track of what matters.
Add your animal in two minutes – the feeding plan, the medication plan and your first vaccination entry are free, with no account and no advertising. The full vaccination record, the medication check and walks are there whenever you want them.
